Integrity Chamber hosts Integrity Session for Government

CAY HILL, Sint Maarten— The Integrity Chamber recently hosted an Integrity Training Session for newly-hired civil servants of the Government of Sint Maarten. The session was led by Director of the Integrity Chamber, Ms. Charna Pompier, and Policy Advisor,  Mrs. Amanda Browne.

Government showed support for this initiative, which was well-attended by 15 active and engaging participants.

During the session, the Integrity Chamber focused on defining integrity, the legal framework of the Chamber and showing participants the benefits of maintaining high ethical standards in their personal and professional lives. Key points were highlighted such as, the definition of integrity, integrity in civil service, the benefits of integrity, and the consequences of a lack of integrity. The session also included discussions on real scenarios that may occur within the organisation.

The session was organised by the P&O department of the Government of Sint Maarten, acknowledging the importance of building a foundation of integrity. The intention is for similar sessions to take place on a structural basis.

The Integrity Chamber has provided integrity sessions to all sectors, including government entities, and schools, as well as hosting information sessions for the public. As part of its mandate, the Integrity Chamber remains dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of integrity within organisations, with the goal of ensuring accountability and transparency across Sint Maarten.
