The President Mrs. Rian Vogels, representing the Integrity Chamber, met with Minister Plenipotentiary, Mr. Rene Violenus, at the Sint Maarten House in the Hague on June 2, 2022. The focus of the meeting was on mutual acquaintance and the introduction of the Integrity Chamber to the Sint Maarten community and its stakeholders in The Netherlands, with the intent of building further relationships. During the meeting, Mrs. Vogels presented Mr. Violenus with the Integrity Chamber 2021 Annual Report, which was recently submitted to Parliament, the Council of Ministers of Sint Maarten, and the Kingdom Council of Ministers.
The meeting involved an exchange of information about the structure and tasks, as well as an update on the achievements and current activities. One of the highlights of the meeting surrounded the function of the Minister Plenipotentiary as a representative of Sint Maarten in the Kingdom. There was an open-hearted conversation about the respective tasks and responsibilities towards the people of Sint Maarten and the way the Minister Plenipotentiary and the Integrity Chamber fulfil them. According to Mr. Violenus, the Integrity Chamber is of added value for building a stronger Sint Maarten.
