The Integrity Chamber Attends the 10th Annual CCAICACB Conference

Members of the Integrity Chamber’s secretariat attended the 10th Annual Commonwealth Conference Association of Integrity Commissions and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB).

The objectives of the CCAICACB are, among others, to serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and experiences in the fight against corruption, initiate and support projects and efforts related to anti-corruption, promote development of knowledge and expertise related to professional ethics, to facilitate interaction among members of the Association and identify and to resolve obstacles in the fight against corruption.

The theme for this year’s conference was “Best Practices for Implementing Integrity and Anti-Corruption Laws in the Caribbean in the age of Artificial Intelligence”. The conference discussed various subtopics such as, the use of IT to combat corruption, conducting effective cross-border investigations, integrity and anti-corruption investigative techniques, and implementing Caribbean wide security measures. Information was provided concerning (1) the inner workings of the various regional integrity commissions, (2) various tools used regionally to promote integrity within public service, (3) utilizing artificial intelligence, digital forensics, and electronic systems during investigations, and (4) various strategies used to combat corruption and promote integrity.

In addition to the Integrity Chamber Sint Maarten, the conference was attended by the integrity commissions of the Commonwealth of Turks and Caicos, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, and Guyana, as well as the Bahamas Public Disclosure Commission, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and various private sector independent members.
